Meeting Materials, initiated by the Dutch "Bond voor Materialenkennis", is a new unique platform, bridging the gap between materials science, industry and young materials minded people. This internationally oriented conference includes a wide array of informative and enjoyable lecture sessions by renowned speakers from industry and academia, offers a choice of unique and exciting tours behind the scenes of world leading companies, special events, job and networking opportunities. To further stimulate cooperation and to form a platform for young material-minded people, Meeting Materials is organised every year.

In 2006 Meeting Materials was organised for the first time at Corus IJmuiden. The diverse programme was closed late in the evening with an exciting tour around the Corus production sites. DOW in Terneuzen hosted Meeting Materials 2007, closing the event with a tour around the impressive production site. The programme also included a trip to the old city of Ghent and a tour around the Centre for Research in Metallurgy & Flanders Materials Centre at the University of Ghent.

All details from MM2006 and MM2007 can be found in our archive so you can see what you have missed. There is also a section with all photos taken during both events.

For all of you who missed the previous editions of Meeting Materials we have great news - Meeting Materials 2008 will be hosted by the Holst Centre in Eindhoven on 3rd and 4th of April 2008!

The Holst Centre is an independent R&D institute that develops generic technologies and technology platforms for autonomous wireless transducer solutions and systems-in-foil. A key feature of the Centre is interaction and cooperation with industry and academia. It is this kind of cross-fertilization that will enable the Holst Centre to tune its scientific strategy to industrial needs.

The list of official sponsors of our congress is growing constantly.
